MedSTAR transports a diverse patient population. Patients from accident scenes are transported to the closet Level I Trauma Center in coordination with local EMS systems, and we provide interfacility transports as directed by the sending and receiving physicians. We routinely transport patients to not only the Washington Hospital Center and Georgetown University Hospital, but to other major tertiary care centers in the Mid-Atlantic region. Our Medical Control physicians are available 24 hours a day for consultation with referring physicians and our flight crews.

MedSTAR’s state-of-the-art Communications Center handles all of your patient’s needs with just one call. Regardless of the situation, we will expedite the referral, locate an admitting physician and coordinate the transport.

Our aircraft operate out of strategically located bases to provide Medevac services to the entire mid-Atlantic region. The location of our Helicopter Bases reduces our response time to better assist patients.

The Ground Transport division provides support services into or out of any MedStar Health facility.
