The Indian Head base, MedSTAR 2, is located in Indian Head, MD at the Maryland Airport. This base operates 24/7 and is available to the entire region. Staffed with MedSTAR's normal configuration of a pilot and nurse/paramedic team, we are able to provide critical care transport for a wide variety of patients. The Indian Head base is also referred to as 2W5 (two whiskey five), which is the airport identifier or as “South Base” due to its southern location.

Due to its location in the region, the Indian Head base is known for its busy days. Indian Head flight crew members are dedicated, caring, and compassionate and are proud to be part the MedSTAR team that serves your community.

The staff at the Indian Head base actively participates in numerous outreach and educational programs in their service area. These programs include helicopter safety, landing zone operations for pre-hospital providers and critical care education for our hospital-based customers.

This base in managed by Brett Dodd, RN, who has been with MedSTAR since November 2005. Brett is dedicated to providing quality care and timely transport for critically injured and ill patients.
